Labor Day Drive

Labor Day Drive
The wife and I took a drive over the holiday weekend.
We drove 555 from Zanesville to Marietta for lunch. Rt. 555 was ok but not great there was a lot of broken pavement and loose gravel on the road. We passed a group of about 8 bikers on sport bikes that were pulled over to the side of the road. Two of there riders had dumped their bikes after they hit some loose gravel in one of the corners.
The only traffic on the road were other motorcycles and there wasn't very much of them.
We had lunch at a great Mexican restaurant in Marietta (Tampico Mexican Restaurant) one street over from the Marietta Brewing Company.
On the ride home we drove Rt. 26 north. This was my first time driving Rt. 26 north and it was a blast. The road looks like it was just paved in the last week or 2 between Marietta and Woodsfield. The road north of Woodsfield had broken pavement and loose gravel like on 555.
If you get a chance to drive Rt. 26 between Woodsfield and Marietta it is like a dream.

Did they have the bridge repaired just south of Zanesville? It was closed when we drove it and they didn't have a detour posted coming north. They had just paved 26 south when we drove it last month. We didn't drive 555 too aggressively. Lots of blind hills. Perfect place for an amish buggy.

They must have opened the bridge because we got off 70 onto 555. Didn't have any problems with any bridges being out.
555 did have alot of blind hills and curves, took it easy since the wife was with me.
