We its hard to believe but its almost time for the third Jay Honda car show. The show is planned for June 14th (rain date is June 15th) from 9am to 5pm. This years show will once again be run on the same day as the Bedford Strawberry Festival. We would really like for everybody (or as many as possible) to attend both shows.
There have been a few tweeks for the show this year. The show is still going to be for Honda and Acuras - but we are going to allow for the first time non-Honda products to attend the show. There will only be one class for the non-Honda products and they will not be allowed to compete for Best of Show honors. We are doing this in an effort to fill the lot and increase our donation to the Cleveland Make-A-Wish Foundation. Last year we raised about $1600. The goal this year is between $2500 and $3000.
Some of the other changes this year are porta pots and FINALLY a new DJ. The music will be drastically different this year - in a good way. If your coming to hear Beach Boys again this year - don't bother. I also plan on making changes to the judging. I will be taking a more active part myself this year. There is never really a perfect way to judge cars because everybody has different taste - but I'm going to try to sure things up a bit. In my opinion the Mugen S2000 was the best car at last years show - but it did not win BoS.
The items being collected again for the Chinese Raffle will blow you away. I have several different portable navigation units already, Sirius and XM car units, an Ipod, clothing and much much more. I have sent letters to 175 race teams (3 times last years amount) looking for donations. Expect some KILLER stuff. I have some signed artwork from Al Unser,Sr and Mario Andretti already. It will be hard to update the items because they will start showing up daily - I hope.
I know I have been able to count on the S2000 community in the past and I hope this year will be no different. Please if there is anything that I can do to improve the show don't hesitate in telling me. This show is very personal to me and I want it to continue to grow and improve. Just like last year the entry is only $10 with the first 100 cars getting a $10 gift. Also the S2000 guys will have their own area put aside this year and like last year the NSX guys are more then welcome. The flyers and posters are being put together and will be mailed in March. Thanks to all who attended last year - I would love to see more of you this year !!!!!!!
