Interesting commute this morning
This morning I deviated from my usual Tussing and Brice, and decided to go to Tussing and 256 to get on to I-70.
I'm driving a Mazda Protege 5 with Brigestone Blizzak snow tires. The pavement is dry. Temperature in the low teens.
I was the first car in line of the left side of the 2 left turn lanes for 256. I noticed the Toyota T100 4 Door Extracab truck in the right side of the 2 left turn lanes had his drivers door window completely down and his stereo blasting. With the cold temperature, I thought....'Hmm interesting'.
I noticed he had Ohio State Buckeyes window tinting on the back window, and behind the drivers seat a large skull decal. I thought 'Biker type'.
The light turns green and I go quickly, staying in my inside lane all the way, and as I'm driving down 256, I see this guy had tried to floor it to go around the outside of me, and managed to do a 450 degree spin so he was now facing West on 256, a North-South road! He managed to stop before hitting the stopped south-bound traffic on 256. But, he was blocking both turn lanes from Tussing onto 256. He was lucky everybody got stopped without hitting him, and allowed him to back up and continue on his way.
Traffic gets competitive at this intersection, and I guess he wanted to make sure I wasn't going to get into his lane after going around the corner! He probably couldn't hear his wheelspin with the stereo cranked!
I did notice once he pulled up in the right lane as I was waiting for the left turn light for I-70 that he had his window up though!

Had to be an eye opening experience. My parents live behind the theater so I have personally seen what happens at that intersection - possibly some of the most impatient, impolite people cross it everyday.

This sums up my reaction when I looked in the rear view mirror: But don't play it at work! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pXfHLUlZf4
