Default Insurance Savings

FYI for those of you storing your s2k for winter. I called my insurance agent today and asked about partial coverage for the winter seeing as how I would not be driving it. They said that I could suspend all coverage except fire and theft. Get this. It only costs $59 for 6 months!! I jumped all over that. I apologize if y'all already knew this. I'm new to the "storing car" thing so the size of the savings was a surprise to me. I was also told that in the unlikely event we have a 68 degree day on February 3rd that all I had to do was call to resume full coverage for that day. Then call back the next day and revert back to winter coverage.

Hehehe.. good idea.. Just one thing. Make sure that IF you decide to go back to driving on one of those "once-in-a-blue-moon" nice days in the middle of winter, you put FULL liability and collision back on. Of course, if you're storing it, no biggie there.

BTW: check on this, but F&T does not cover glass,so make sure you got your windows protected

Personally, I'm guessing that your car is under 6' of armor with armed guards monitoring the car 24/7.
.... oh wait, even then, S2's and R's are getting stolen left and right. *sigh*.

Just an added tip from Mentor Insurance if the car is still owned by the bank they require full coverage at all times..winter coverage is fine if you hold the title. I had a number of customers try this with there bikes.

It's a good deal. However, USAA charges me $17 for 6 months of storage insurance.
