it's all about the benjamins....
if it were really about the love of the game...
a) players would be playing no matter what...whether it be outside the league, country, IHL, AHL, whatever.
b) owners would have brought up 'replacement' players (i.e. minor leagues, etc.)
but of course do they really care about the fans?
