We love our '08 CRV. Sorta funny to be able to say the SUV at home gets better gas mileage than the S you're tooling around in - but it does.

Thanks all. JCW Clubman sounds cool, but for the price.
Should have also mentioned, it has to have a manual tranny (does Mazda 6?) - otherwise we may very well just get a CRV and call it a day. My wife still LOVES her manual Element SC.
The rear crash test ratings on our Fit are indeed what're worrying us (it's not just her), particularly considering the Fit is otherwise so small and light.

Knowing you guys the way that I do, you like to switch cars often, and have always wanted a Porsche. My vote is Cayenne. You'll need the versatility, but also want the fun factor. It's a blast to drive, and will retain more value than some of the other choices when you get the itch to switch again.

I found a dealer with a 2009 WRX tonight, and I'm 99% sure that the test drive sealed the deal. Much improved over the 2008, pulls and handles like an STI for $10k less. Just need to decide when to pull the trigger and list the Fit.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
