Headlamp Cracks

Dave;
Not sure what would do that either. However, having dealt with Honda/Acura on issues "out of warranty", I would not be deterred by the first person you talk to. I think they are trained in the "its not our problem" mentality, just to see if you will go away. I also don't think they have any authority whatsoever.
I have had the dealer appeal to the zone manager once, and that worked (on a Honda Ody), and I suspect that was from the same dealer you have. I'm surprised they wouldn't at least make the call for you. I actually got thru to the case manager at Acura on the other.
Strangely enough, both of these were for bad EGR valves on the 3.5L V6. One on the Ody, the other on our MDX. The case manager at Acura was actually quite nice, and very appologetic, once I got thru to him.

No way thats a parts/materials issue. It appears to be either chemical attack or abrasive damage, at least from what I can see in the photos. Did you have "eyebrows" installed and recently take them off?
And I have never heard of any issue like this in the field.
If it were a materials problem, the pattern would be over the entire surface and not just in a well defined area on the top 1/3 of the lens.
And you are right, no dealer would/should even think of submitting that as a warranty claim.
Also appears your paint is worn thin on the leading edge? But that may be a trick of the light in the photo?
You could try Plexus or something like it to see if any of that will "buff" out, but it looks pretty deep.

Never had "eyebrows" Never cleaned with harsh chemicals. The cracks appear to be on the inside of the lens. The outside is perfectly smooth with the exception of some minor chips. Honda opened a case file on this. I will wait until they contact me.

No, the dealer service mgrs aren't trained to say no and see if you go away. They ARE trained to look at the issue and the facts, then determine if they see any parts, materials, assembly, or design issue
In general the dealer service managers have been helpful to me. I am surprised that they would not initaiate the call/case file for Dave.
