Acura needs to absorbed into the Honda structure and go away
I don't think so.

I think Acura simply needs better marketing and less fugly styling.

USA & Canada are the only two countries where Acura exists so why keep it ?

Because Americans have an obsessive need for luxury cars that have different nameplates from their respective manufacturers.

Yes, it's as shallow as that.

In Acura's case, it's also to do uplevel trims that aren't available on Hondas, and to offer SH-AWD.

I must admit that if Honda doesn't want to do the job right, that should be a reason to jettison the brand and stick to making fugly peoplemobiles (Fit excepted). I say this as a 20-year Honda owner, and current Honda stockholder.

Agree... wouldn't that be why Infiniti and Lexus are around as well?

Keep in mind that Acura was the original up-market brand from the Japanese car manufacturers. Lexus and Infinity came later.

Which is why I think absorbing the brand and offering those features within those models makes more sense.

An Accord with SH-AWD

A CRV with a turbo and HID's

........just two examples of what assimilating the Acura line-up into Honda might offer.

Honda still needs a Halo Car!!!!!!!!!! Something to lust after

They had one in 1990 and let it die 15 years later
