i've driven a cr, 3 ap1s (all were mine), and a few of my buddies ap2s. Cr was more like the ap1 and the ap2s were more forgiving like what they said above. I've autocrossed all 3 of the s2000s and i loved racing the ap1 compared to the other cars. The ap2 wasn't as easy to get the ass end around, but i guess its because they changed the suspension in the ap2 to be more easier to drive (from what i hear) and the ap1 is really ass happy which is what i liked about driving them. I loved the ability to get the ass end around a tight turn. The cr is ehhhh i dunno didn't really get to beat on it because i was scared of beating on someone else's car but it seemed to drive the same as my ap1 while i ran it on a fun run. I'd get a 02-03 s2000 or just get a 04-05 s2000. never really liked the DBW that they had for the s2000. Only driven one of them a few times. If you see the comparison that they did on the ap1 and ap2 from a dead stop you can see the ap2 is only like .07 faster when accelerating from 60-80 from what i remember. It was barely noticeable

I agree with Mocky: your mind is made up.

It's your money; buy what you like. You don't have to justify your choice to anyone.

I own and have only driven the AP1 and it's a blast. No need for anything else. I enjoy what I have and it provides the adrenalin rush I need from time to time. I got mine at a great price and couldn't pass it by. Either or, it will make you smile when you climb in and take off.

Dont let the lower revs bother you. Hondata reflash for the 06 newers solve that easily.

Stock for stock is the only real difference, if your like us, as soon as you start modifying it the plying field all changes anyhow..

I went from ap1 to ap2 to ap1.

I would say go with the ap1 if you like a hardcore, simply, machine. Ap2 if youd perfer something alittle more refined. Also, 2.2 is super nice with the added torque (does make a difference), although I love the never ending revs of the ap1.
