Hum, this page says law was amended in 2004 to require only the back plate. To save money no less.

I don't have one on my car. I keep it in the trunk. Hopefully if i ever get stopped, I'll get a warning.
The wife will allow one ticket and then the plate must go on, though I can think of a lot of other uses for $100.00. Maybe I'll get that Rick's plate holder before I get a ticket.
