engine oil
hi everyone, i've read many threads on engine oil, but i wanted to hear from some locals. i'm running mobil one 10w-30 right now, and will need to change soon. should i get something that will help with cold starts for the winter?
also, please chime in with the brand/viscosity that you're using. thanks!

I used to use "Redline, 10W-30" after 10K miles....found it to be too expensive...Have been using Mobile 1, 10W-30 for the past 2 years...Change @ 3K or before, even though I beleive it's really not necessary....

Next change on the Laguna, I'm going to change from Mobil 1 to Pennzoil Platinum just to see if it really makes any difference. 10w-30 year-round, was fine for me in Ohio winters.

anyone ever used Royal Purple in an S2000? sumone told me about it and i thought "watever" but i ended up buying sum for my Nissan 240sx (drift car) cus i remembered how good the Royal Purple 350z did on the Forza Motorsport showdown with Ken Gushi drifting at the wheel lol.
and actually, i did notice a difference! the car really started to Sing at High RPMs! i kno the 240 is tottally opposite the S2000, getting its torque early and horsepower teetering out n higher revs with the stock KA... but the car really did sound like it could rev to 9k (tho the rev limiter cuts it at bout 6.5k). im starting to seriously think bout using the 10w30 royal purple in the S2000 since the S generally gets driven in High RPMs.
i was told Mobil 1 was best for the S, but im wondering if anyone out there has tried Royal Purple (tho expensive) for improvement in the S for its high rev capabilities.

Go over to the Under the Hood section and read up on Royal Purple, Amsoil, etc. Lots there believe that it is all hype, and of no real benefit.
That is why I am trying the Pennzoil Platinum - the UOAs on it are uniformly top notch. And it is cheaper than Redline - another favorite over there.
I've no personal expereince with any of these oils yet.
