so I drove my CR down to Atlanta to see a friend and particiapate in a night time SCCA Solo II event at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.
On the way down, I got off the highway in Knoxville and headed for the dragon.
Keep in mind this is on a Thursday afternoon - about 2pm - so traffic was minimal.
I have a lots of video of the dragon, but I'm still in Atlanta (and will be hitting the dragon on the way back up)
Anyways, between the dragon and the Atlanta I found an equally as thrilling mountain road. I actually found it a bit more entertaining than the 129 route because it a higher speed setup.
So I wedged my $300 Canon Camera underneath my GPS window mount and actually ended up with good results.
Watch the video in it's normal screen (full screen tends to slow it down a bit) and turn the volume up, the sound turned out nicely.

I'll post more when I get back in town.

I favorited your video on Youtube. More coming?
I was so freaked because they take up all lanes and then some during some of the tight turns that I stopped the car on a short straight and waited quite some time for him to complete a single turn before coming around the blind turn where I was waiting.
Absolutly amazing. I've heard stories and seen pictures, but Semi-trucks simply do not belong on the dragon. it is very dangerous. And seeing the situation in person opened my eyes to the dangers of over-driving the dragon. You reall need to look up through the trees to see 1 to 2 turns, 3 if possible, to examine on coming traffic. And definitly leave, have fun, drive fast, enjoy the turns, but leave at goot 20-30% in reserve for emergency stopping, menuvering, etc.
I'll post another topic when the other video gets uploaded. I need to split it into a part 1 and part 2 due to YouTubes limits.

during some of the tightest twistiest areas, I actually catch a semi-truck running the dragon in the opposite direction.
S2000=2800 lbs (1.4 tons)
18-wheeler semi=40 tons max legally
Good thing you were not flying into the blind curve.
Can't wait to favorite more videos.
