Post Doctor Detail works some magic

Ray and I went over to Rich's house last night and was given a tutoral on proper waxes , polishes ,and carnubas.
We also learned why you don't want to use common over the counter waxes and showed Ray the proper way to use a porter cable.
What Rich did to Ray's S2000 bonnet was simply amazing;the difference was night and day.
Later Scott showed up and "Doc Detail" did a number on Scott's canvas top and showed Scotty the proper wax for the car and told him to pitch his wax in the dumpster.............BTW it was mine and Ray's favorite too

However the stuff he applied to Scotty's car and later Ray's car was simply amazing. I also learned that I have been appling the wax in the wrong way for years.

I just want to say thanks to Rich and Heather for their hospitality.

What I learned.
When you use PC Orbital with cutting pad and polish/swirl remover, your not actually polishing, your cutting into the paint/clear coat to get imperfections and scum off your paint. Your breaking it down. We used 4 types of product, each one more coarse. My front end was repainted lastyear so it was more difficult to remove the swirl marks. This was not a bad thing as we all know how bad Honda paint is. (FYI- Just got buzzed by 4 F16s) Anyway, back on topic (sorry Noshow), The swirl marks are 85% gone. We could have worked longer on it but it was late and there was Guinness to be consumed. I will do my fendors, trunk and doors today. Should be easier since it is the Honda paint. Now, wax. NXT and all of these other Walmart waxes are cleaner waxes. They have lots of solvents and stuff like that. They look good but they do not last and do not protect as much as a good carnuba or synthetic. Zaino, for instance, actually bonds to the paint which helps it last longer and protect. (Jump in here anytime Rich). So,I am heading out now to finish this bitch. I will take pics later. Anyone wants to swing by, I will be in the garage.

Maybe I'll do a little "clinic" at the mod day.
