There was a crash in the early 90s there by Lee Mueller in a Supra that landed it's right front tire in somebodies hibachi grill. They have actually moved everything back about 30-40 yds since then, so this guy actually went further! The Supra actually flew most of the distance, and came down nose first and then on all 4 wheels. The center of the car actually touched the ground at center of the wheel base, and all 4 wheels were still on the car.
In the S at the PDX I was hitting about 118 and braking at the 400 ft marker and getting into 2nd or 3rd before the apex. He had to be doing at least 70-90 when he went off.
Glad to see he walked away. That also makes a good case for a roll cage that gives you extra clearance!

Lesson learned here: If you are in trouble going into a turn, don't try to make the turn. Keep the wheels straight and concentrate onstopping the car.
