Thumbs up Cigarette Burn on Seat

Today while getting into my car, i noticed what appears to be a cigarette burn on my drivers seat. The burn is about an inch long, and does not seem to go through the leather except for maybe in one spot.

I can only guess that someone threw a cigarette into to car at some point, and that I did not notice before.

I have done a little searching, and it looks like things like this can be repaired. Do any of you guys have any experience with a repair like this? Is this something best left to a pro, or could I do this myself? If it should be handled by a pro, does any one know someone who does these repairs, and what it might cost?

I guess I won't be leaving my car parked top down any more.

I can can try to find out who Kelly BMW uses. The guy that comes there had to regrain & respray part of my drivers door panel and I can't tell it was done. It has held up for a couple of years also. You might want to also check to see how much a new skin is from Honda and swap it.

David, I would appreciate that. Kelly is very close to my house, so I could meet him near there if he makes regular trips there. If you don't mind saying, about how much did your repair cost?

I think that some professional detailers do work like this, I was hoping that someone might have experience with someone.

I did some checking an it looks like a new sear cover is about $630.00. I'm hoping that the repair would be much less than that.

Thanks, and they do look nice. I really like my blue seats though, and they only offer blue inserts.

I'll keep it in mind, but I found a couple of upholstery shops online that say that they can repair small burns and I'll look in the phone book when I get home. I'd like to get a couple of repair estimats first to see if I can just get it fixed.

Hey....once you get your seat covers fixed, can we go find the bastage that did it and shove lit cigarettes in his eyes?

Just a thought.
