I second that idea
Also, if you are looking for a good drive, take 89A south into Sedona. It runs along Oak Creek (if my memory serves me). Neat place, and lots of good places to eat.
If you are in Sedona, drive up to the airport (airport road). The airport is high up on a mesa and provides spectacular views across the city and surrounding area. Especially fantastic at dusk. There is a motel up there (Sky Ranch Lodge, sounds seedy but rooms are very nice) where you can park and walk around for the views.

OMG!!! Rick, the next time we see you, I need to give you a BIG hug for this suggestion!!! This place is AMAZING - and we are still in our room at the Sky Ranch. Have yet to explore Sedona - will be doing MUCH shopping downtown soon!! 89A was a little scary for me (Steve loved it!!), but when the views popped up, I forgot all about it!!! (well maybe not, but..... Going to go do some sightseeing - thanks again!! Becky
Don't know how much time you have, but there used to be a place right at the airport that rents Jeeps. They will give you maps and you can take the Jeeps off roading. There are caves, old Indian cities built into the walls of the caves, hygrogliphics, etc to see. Its a real blast. My only caution is to go over the vehicle closely for damage. They take it real seriously when you return it, but not so much when you take it out.
There are also Jeep tours that you can take, but I'd rather be in control myself.
In any case have fun!

The problem is that both Beck and I got sick on something we ate yesterday so bathroom breaks have been plentiful. After debating we've decided to circle the wagons and stop in Kingman, AZ about 15 minutes from the Cali border
After an hour nap I feel alot better and so does Beck

I feel really bad about this. I'm kinda glad that I didn't recommend a place to eat. Hope you feel better and this didn't spoil your time in Sedona, or your trip
Have fun

Tomorrow morning bright and early will be the big push and probably a taste of LA traffic
later
