Default Bridgestone RE-01R

It was just pointed out to me that these killer tires are on special right now. For central Ohio guys, you could probably get an AP1 set for about ~$512 with shipping direct from Tire Rack.

AP1 sizes:
205/55VR16
225/50VR16

AP2:
215/45ZR17 (are not on special)
245/40ZR17

Note: Yes, I have a Tire Rack wholesale acct but on "specials" it comes out at nearly a wash once you add in sales tax.

Hopefully that helps someone.

I thought we were supposed to use 245's in the rear for AP1 if they aren't SO-2s. As long as they are Bridgestone tires, are you supposed to use 225?

I suspect that the contact patch area is about the same as SO2s.

RE01Rs are big for their sizes.
A guy at work just got a set, I'll see if he measured them/what size he ordered for the rear.

These are probably one of the top 3 street tires available right now. Yeah, not quite sized right for stock AP1s, and driving dynamics will suffer at the limit. But, that limit should be extremely high (just don't pucker and lift - lol). They probably approach Kumho Victoracer grip levels, if that means anything to anyone anymore.
