I hear you on this one. This is a tough goal at BeaveRun.

I sure hope Hardtopguy brings some extra pads. I am pretty sure I'll need 'em.

If we are permitted to take passengers, I'd be happy to take anyone out for some hot laps.

My goals are a little different than most folks on the track. I'm not going for my best lap time or highest speed on the straights, but the highest speed through the turns. With that in mind, I don't need to hit the brakes all that hard going into the turn, since I've bled off a fair amount in the couple hundred feet before it. In my first time out, I was always on the tail of the car in front of me on the turns, but they would lose me every time on the straights. I'd always catch up within a turn or two.

I never used more than moderate pressure on the brakes. Just no need to (for the kind of driving I do there). One S owner I know is a track instructor, has done 65K miles on his car, with something like 5-10 track days, and is still on his original brake pads. I'm sure my brakes will last just fine.

If you're going out for best lap times, then yes, you will need new pads by the end.

I'm just hoping it stays dry - if it's more than damp, I'm not going out.

Im not sure about keeping the original pads after 5-10track days on a stock pads. Gary and I both cooked our pads at last year's FC in one day of track day. Then again, I remember pushing my brakes harder than anyother time.

I had all four pads replaced last week so I am good to go for the weekend but I hear ya Jonas, I am not looking to set a record out there this weekend. First track event this season, I am looking forward to start of this season right and also looking forward to meet you guys.

I think he said he's got about 13 of the usable pad still there.

I don't doubt him about the track days. I've followed him on spirited drives, and he barely uses his brakes - at most, to settle the suspension a bit. He'll downshift & bleed off speed before the turn & then rip through it as fast as he can. Even on the track, he doesn't use brakes too much.

His is the extreme example of the style I try to emulate. I hate replacing stuff on my car.

(Still fingers crossed for no rain...)

I hope you guys have fun!

Initially looked forward to registering for this, but I"m trying to budget for this year and WTD recently happend and other plans are in the works so I backed out here ,

Trying to be more selective about where I should invest tracking expenses towards...and decided not to do Beaver Run North Track because I think for what I'm looking for, Mid Ohio will be worth waiting for.

Still feeling the regret right now... hmmm I would love to JOIN YOU GUYS still.

But too late I can't. Haven't changed brake pads since the dragon.

BJ,

Well, you will be missed! Not!
BeaveRun would've been the better place to start than Mid Ohio although, Mid Ohio is much more technical.

Anyways, we could do May 29th event!
