BeaveRun Track Event! - May 13 & 14
RedlineTrackEvents is hosting another track event at BeaveRun.
About this same time last year we had a great run at BeaveRun with lots of you S2000 (& NSX) guys supporting the event. I hope you'll be able to make it back to the track this year.
This BeaveRun event will also be a Redline:Time Attack event, perviously to be held at Mid-Ohio but now moved to BeaveRun due to tack problems at Mid-Ohio. We will be back to Mid-Ohio. RTE really wants to get on that track, and we are defiantly going to run an event there.
Saturday, May 13 is an open track day / HPDE event. Anyone is welcome to attend.
Sunday, May 14 is the Redline: Time Attack! Also an event that anyone is welcome to attend.
For more info on our time attack please visit our website: http://redlinetimeattack.com/index.html
The last time attack we held at California Speedway was a great event. With S2000s taking the honors for both Modified and Street RWD Class. You can see the final results here: http://redlinetimeattack.com/index-R.htm also, check out the gallery for photos form that event.
The Redline: Time Attack is a slightly different take on time trail racing, and provides some great fun at the track. You only get five laps to a time attack session, and only three of the laps will count towards you placement. You'll have plenty of track time during the Time Attack for practice runs and to get your car set up. The Time Attack sessions are run in the afternoon. The format and schedule are all explained on redlinetimeattack.com.
Hope you can make it out!
Thanks,
Chris

I've done only one track day (it was a Beaver Run last Fall Colors), so I would count as a novice, and I don't think I'd be up for the TimeAttack on Sunday. What's the format for the open track day on Saturday? How much track time can be expected, etc?

JonasM,
I think one can expect anywhere from 2-3hours of track time in one of this event. That is plenty of track time for our cars. Since it isn't like NASA event where races and qualifying runs are mixed, I am sure you can get plenty of track time.
I am considering this but have to make sure I can take the Friday off.

For Sunday, 2 to 2.5 hours of track time. A little less then Saturday because of the time attack, but still a lot seat time.
The Time Attack sessions are nice because of no traffic. You get the laps to yourself on track to get the fasted time.
Saturday will be no racing and plenty of track time for all. Most people don't even use all the track time they get at our events, but there are always a few who get in every last lap!

Sunday will be a good day to attend too. Much more to see and do on Sunday.
Also, at the awards presentation for the Time Attack, we'll even feed you guys after the event. Only on Sunday though. Saturday you'll have to fend for you selves.
