I am planning for the Flat Out "Friday" on 4/24 as I'm on call on the 3rd.
It'll be my first track event, ever. You guys have told me about BeaverRun and it's finally time I did it. If it's fun enough, I may have to go back in my V.

Is this for 2 sessions and 1 day only? I think I am missing something, sorry. I did read this several times.
I read two classroom sessions for Run Group 1 and Run Group 2, but I can't tell how many on track sessions (and for how long each) you get.

Which day are you guys thinking about attending. I may come up and visit and maybe do some photography if I'm allowed on the track to shoot. I don't think I'll be bringing the CR though (well, maybe)

Mocky - ill buy lunch if you are up taking photos!
Yeah beaverun's website is kinda a sh!tshow. We have actually talked about that at the driver meeting. I would say you get 1-2 hours of track time between three sessions. I cant say for sure but i know that myself i am usually a little fried by the end of it. When you are "cleared by the instructor" onto higher groups you will often double up doing a group one and then a two additionally.
Here is the typical day.
8am: Registration
830: Group One and Two start first "driver orientation", Group Three (experienced drivers hit the track)
Annoying "im gonna talk to you about driving like your phys ed teacher talked to you about kickball" guy takes you thru the track and signals, etc. The guy who leads "driver training and dont die or be a hero talk" isn't in the cars thankfully and curiously. Every once and a while one of the "in car" instructors will pipe up with something actually insightful in the classroom.
845: Out on to the Mezzanine to watch group 3 and instructors lap and talk further about track, etc.
9: Down to the staging lanes for group 2. And then when they are done group one heads down.
Your car gets the once over for basic items, tires, etc. And then you wait in your car till a driver instructor jumps in. You will have the same instructor for the day. Both instructors i have had were very cool and helpful. You take a couple parade laps and then get on it. My last instructor had an in ear communicator for me to wear which was very helpful. At the end of the session the instructor has an evaluation to go over things you did well and need to improve on. This will also determine your progress towards the next group. Im hoping to get to three this time so i can do test and tune.
1030: back to the classroom. Gym coach gives some more rants. Other driving instructors share some mistakes they are seeing on the track.
1100: group two goes down
1130: group one goes down
noon: break no more classroom session - there is a food stand for lunch
1230: group two
1:00: group one

If you can make sure I get access to the track, I'll see what I can do about getting there that day.
