Arthritis Auto show for S2000

Arthritis Auto show for S2000
I met with the show committee on Monday afternoon to learn the ropes and determine our individual expectations. The committee is a group of professionals, all of whom love cars. It was cool to work with the Corvette club, Mustang club, Porsche club, etc. and to learn what has worked for them. The PT cruiser club will also be present and they have a different approach. I'll explain both...
The "Corvette" approach: Their show within a show is broken into categories for each vette generation. There are also awards to unrestored survivors, rare models, historical models, race cars, etc.
The "PT Cruiser" approach: Their show within a show is more aesthetically based. They award for bling, chrome, ICE, custom, etc. With really only one model to speak of, they have a list of awards that seem excessive, but they also will bring 50 cars to the show.
This said, we can adopt one of the above or a combination. I am expecting about 20 cars, so it would be very selfish of us to request 10 trophies (which the show provides). I think 5 awards would be ideal. We must have a best in show winner, who will participate in the parade and formal ceremony like Reddog did last year. All others will receive their trophy and possibly have their name announced (the committee has not determined if that will happen yet).
So, what do we need?
Three judges, at least one should not be a club member. Ideally all three should be impartial so nobody feels cheated. Judging criteria is something we can discuss over beer some night.
Five show catagories my suggestions are as follows...
Best in class (required)
Best AP1
Best AP2
People's Choice (we let show goers pick the winner--not us)
etc......
Some volunteers Can somebody get some banners made for us? Popeye has volunteered to have the BBQ, so that is covered. Some people to man a table for us at the show (everyone take a 30 minute shift). Can we find a class sponsor? This can be done for pretty cheap and they get their name added to the show materials and on all of our trophies.
The IAA Awards This is optional, but we can each vote on a group of categories and hand out awards at Popeye's. This is for some of the sillier stuff like "most paint chips (if we must)," most bling", best "driver," etc.
Sign up for the show now!! We will be class 38, the entry form on the site will be updated to reflect this shortly.
Please add your comments below. If you want to volunteer, please let me know. Also PM me you nominations for judges. If it is someone outside the club, tell me that too. I have to have our awards defined before May 15. I will also be selecting our show area around then--hopefully on the asphalt.

I would like to handle the banners Scott.
I think the set up you ahve is perfect. I like the PT cruiser approach. I think we stick with what you have here.
I.A.A.- Most Bald winner and most hair product.

Guys...
The trophies are already provided. If we find a class sponsor, then that is more money the arthritis foundation gets to keep. We do not need a trophy vendor.
Thanks, Ray! I appreciate it.
Steve the magnets are a great idea!
