IndyCar Series to Join American Le Mans Series at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in 2007
Open-wheel racing will return to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, as TrueSports, Incorporated announced today the IndyCar Series will team up with the American Le Mans Series in an event slated for July 20-22, 2007.This signifies the first time the IndyCar Series has ventured to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and will mark the first open-wheel race at the Lexington, Ohio road course since 2003. The event will be the one of three which the American Le Mans Series and the IndyCar Series will run jointly in 2007. This combined event is poised to be the largest and most significant motorsports event in the state of Ohio, with live national television coverage from CBS. Additionally, radio coverage will be provided on XM Satellite Radio and IMS Radio Network will feed affiliates nationwide. The three-day event will combine the best of North American road racing.
