Nice pictures! Why is the AE 86 such a desireable car now-a-days? Was it a rare car in it's day, or has it only since become very sought after? Because I was only 4 when it was made, and only into Matchbox cars at that point, I'm just curious...

The car meets the Rear wheel drive spec for drifting.
The car is affordable for drifting.
There are availiable parts for it to be tuned.
It's a cult thing in Japan.
And the Drift King has one...so it increased it's value.

Well, this is Toyota Tureno. The infamous drift king car.
I've seen a white one running around near Easton area before.
Here is battle of AE86 video at Tsukuba circuit.
Enjoy.

You have Fast and Furious and mostly drifitng to blame for all the interest in old Nissan cars.
The S13 was realllllly easy to drift. A lot of torque, perfect wheel base, and weight distribution made you look like a pro. I used to drift laps around this one small traffic circle at my college. It really was more the car than the driver. I def can't do that in my S2000.

of course he also drives the JGTC NSX
he also made the cameo in FF3
the tofu delivery car from Initial D definitely made that car famous.
