This will definitely be an interesting season. I think it's hella cool that Honda and Porsche are now involved.

Steve, The Audi is in a different class. If Acura can beat them, that would be impressive.

That is a good question. I wonder if race cars do have VTEC? Does the Realtime Acura team have VTEC? I realize that road cars have this to boost fuel economy, different driving modes, etc. I wonder if it makes a difference since racecars are always at the top of the RPM range. I guess sportscar racing circuits, sometimes come down to a slow speed at a chicane. Anyone know?

I read somehwere that Realtime uses VTEC in their motors. The cars are tuned to use the VTEC profiles at lower revs to maximize power.

Some racing venues like F1 and maybe Lemans restrict the use of things like variable valve timing, the cars began making too much power and the speeds were just too high, iirc.
