is there a difference with 18" on an ap2 versus ap1? I know Blake's Ap2 had BBS LMs (18s) and I thought they looked good.. I ran TE37s in 18s on the ap2.. but on the ap1, I was stock..

Yeah, stock suspension. I guess that in fairness it also is dependant on what kind of tires you put on.
If you keep the total ride diameter the same in order to keep the speedo accurate then you are, by definition, removing 1" of rubber and air between you and the road.
