Painting CF is like using a color condom, You can't see what is under it.
Or you can leave it plain so you can announce to the world that you put a heavier hood on your car, made of an exotic, expensive material. Kind of like a really big wing, with another really big wing attached to it. Add a 7 inch NHRA tach with a huge yellow light too. Maybe paint up some rain gutters for side skirts too.
Don't get me wrong, Dave, your hood looks great. I think it would look better if your hood was painted, except for the vents. It would be a finished look, rather than an add-on.
Paint match, Rich? I guess the color of carbon fiber is a better match to the rest of the car, then. I have some match pretty well.
Its Ray's car. Let him make the decision.

Personally I think it's the contrast that will make the hood work on his car, just like his wheels. I think the "black nostril" look will look stupid. It's easy enough to get the hood and install it. Roll around with it on for a week to see if you like it. If not spend the $500 and get it painted.
