So, I was bored after work today and decided to go check out Hugh White Honda's new location and maybe test drive a 2004 S2000. Well, their store is nice enough, but they have two 2003 models sitting on the lot and no '04s. Seeing as this discovery did not waste enough of my time, I decide to drive up to Immke Honda and beg for a test drive.
Naturally, I have forgotten all about this thread or I wouldn't have bothered. The salesman I spoke with told me about the guy who wrecked this car. He said they were really paranoid about test drives right now, so unless I was ready to buy, he didn't think he could swing one for me. I told him I was really just curious, that's all and not to worry about it.
Anyway, he said the kid did like $10,000 or $12,000 in damage to that car and something about how it was so much money in damage, they could no longer attempt to sell the car as a new vehicle.

So how does that work? the kid who crashed the car is responsible for the damage? I guess if anything his insurance co is?
Poor car...

My wife and I were at Immke today getting her Accord serviced. I ended up talking to one of the salesmen about the this car.
He said the dealership will cover the repair costs and the driver would not be responsible for the $8,000 worth of damage. The guy went on to say that in addition to the obvious cosmetic damages, the suspension was also damaged and the engine was skewed in the engine bay from the impact. He confirmed the car could not be sold as new and the dealership will likely repair the car and sell it at auction.
Oh and the VIN: JHMAP21414T002548.
Pretty sad sight. The car is still behind the dealer, waiting its turn in the body shop and likely waiting for parts.

You're not even going to deny it?... Ok, that would just be silly would'nt it...
Actually, for those not familiar with David's driving style, I'd describe it as "skillful yet scary".
