howdy!

Gulp! $600 for new control arms and tie rods on the S4. Plus about 8 hours of labor.

Replacing everything on it is standard post-warranty service. The control arms are not covered in the maintenance manual in the first 100,000 miles. I am at 80,000 now, so they have done their job pretty well: five years on Columbus sh!tty roads, a day and half at the Dragon, 4 days at Mid-Ohio, and two (very unpleasant) auto-crosses. Plus I put coilovers on it and lowered it about an inch and rode on 18s for about 30,000 miles. I love the car, so the pain isn't that bad.

Dave, thanks for the offer, but this isn't a job that can be done in the garage. I helped another A4 owner replace his a few months ago and one side took us over 10 hours, most of that was removing the bolt that holds the upper links together, which tends to rust completely. Now, if you can help me swap a wheel bearing on the SVO, I will buy the beer and pizza, plus your hoody and one for Haley.

Assuming that is at the wheels, that car may be stage 3. I had a stage 1+ chip the car hated it. I still have a stage 1, but rarely use it. Those little KO3s are already blowing pretty hard in stock form.
