You know his work schedule... work around it.
"Hey Dani... is Tim around?"
"Oh, he's not? That's a shame... what are you up to?"

i'm wondering if anyone has some advice on places to go/see/eat while being in london. there's a chance i might be going there in the next few months for a few days.
Back in April, while setting up the Great Britain office of the International IAA in London, I did a pub crawl. There were two that I really liked one, the King George's Inn (iirc) is across London Bridge, down a short ally. It is a bit of a walk from the nearest tube station, but worth it. We closed up there (f'ing 11 pm) and went to the Anchor, which was also a stop earlier in the evening. The Anchor is the pub that Ving Rhames and Tom Cruise were sitting at (with the Cranberries playing in the background) at the end of MI.
Several pubs turn into clubs after midnight. Most will stop serving food relatively early (like 8 or 9). And, do not order Budweiser. Try John Smiths or Murphy's. Guiness extra cold if you are real man .
As for food, I didn't do any extravagant dining. Just lots of pubs. There are a ton of places to eat around Picadilly Circus (just follow the tube).
Places to go? The Tower of London was cool. It takes a full day to see it all. It isn't worth it if you do not have a full day. I stayed just off Hyde Park (down and across the street from the Russian embassy). It was a nice place, but not much nightlife nearby.
In reality, you need 2 weeks to see all of London. I had two days and it wasn't enough. See a REAL soccer game while you are there. I suggest Chelsea or Fulham, You can take the tube to either stadium. Also, drink a lot! Don't act like a loud tourist and you will make friends. The people are pretty cool and always willing to drink a beer (you buy) with you.

With a camera permanently affixed to his face, how can he not act like a tourist?
