i don't know if i could mentally muster up the courage (for lack of a better word) to carry around a firearm in public.....

Unless it is being cleaned or at the range, mine is locked in a case. I do not have a CCW for three reasons: I work at a bank--that's a federal thing, I go to bars and drink, and third, it would be too damn easy to have handy the next time I get pissed at some cell-phone yacking, battlestar driving, idiot.
