[QUOTE=krnmike,Mar 17 2009, 06:26 PM] i can write a better instruction manual for you. the one that comes with voltex is 1 page and is a drawing of the wing and trunk with scribbles in Japanese.
materials needed:
pen (preferably a thin sharpie)
ruler (preferably one that bends)
masking tape
1. put masking tape on both sides of the trunk's edges (to prevent any scratches during the installation. use liberally).
2. assemble the wing
The voltex manual shows the leg of the wing positioned towards the inside. like the picture above.
3. Now, this is where the masking tape comes to play (it protects AND helps you mark the area to drill). have your friend put the wing on the car. You take a sharpie pen and mark around the wing's base & the holes of the base (to get an idea of where it would mount exactly). (have someone hold the wing up as you take measurements on the trunk)
tip: the distance between the 2 bases of the wing should fit perfectly with: the distance between the edges of the trunk. (this applies for wings that are made to mount on the edges)
4. once everything has been measured precisely and accurately, you drill. I forgot which drill bit size I used, but in general, I started out with a smaller drill bit and worked my way up to a drill bit (size of the bolt)
-preparation complete-
5. installl the wing
6. don't park it in public for a long time or leave your car behind for a long time. be near your car. theft happens. If I were you i would pick up some custom screws to replace all the screws that come with the package.
tip: when you put the screws in (where the base and the leg come together) it has some play. I don't know what the deal with that is, but don't be too bothered by it.
tip: make sure the wing's platform (it's legs) aren't bending or contorting AT ALL. When installing the wing, all you are doing is, putting the wing gently on the car and drilling the holes to finally mount it. You can put something in between the base and the trunk, but i didn't.
take note my drawing isn't accurate cuz i only drew 4 holes lol. you'll see when you get the wing, just have the base's edge sit flush with the trunk's edge. it's common sense.
if my directions don't sound clear, just pm me.
