To each his own but running 6 point cages on the street is plain dangerous. I've been involved in many accidents and have owned two cars with 4 point cages so I'm not just talking out of my ass here.

Anyone who has been in a serious accident will tell you just how much your head can be jerked around with just a seatbelt or harness on. Having steel or chromoly tubes running 2" away from your exposed head on the street is insanity. The simplest low speed collision can cause you to strike your head hard enough to kill you. Dying because some asshat t-bones your passenger side at 30 mph doesn't sound all that enticing.

I'm not knocking the 6 points, they look great, and provide a lot of protection when the driver is strapped into a proper seat with harnesses and helmet. I just want everyone to keep this in mind when they're deciding on a cage. The 4 points are just a better idea for street.

the 6 points that go into the dash, vs in front of the dash, since they follow the windshield frame more closely, are they any safer for the street?

How much seat travel do you lose with the cusco/safety21 cage, both with or without the harness bar?

I have also been very interested in the Cusco and Safety 21 bars, but I am concerned about knee and leg room, it looks like there isn't much room down there and it would get in the way of the clutch for the driver. Can I get some comments on that or better pics of that area?

Thanks

a friend of mine has this setup. the clutch isn't really an issue but it does take a bit of a skill to slip in and out of the car.

you have to take some gymnastics to get in and out, imagine if you had a bucket seat in there all i have to say is pull yourself out like nascar style
