No hardtop for me, but the guy you are talking about is a friend of mine.

I wont do the fronts because they are a lot more delicate and easy to screw up than the rears. Plus, in most cases you wont need the fronts rolled. I have plenty of clearance with 1 finger gap running 17x8 225/45 now that I've cut the fender liner and tabs.

You cannot run 17x9 +45 with proper fitting tires (245-40-17 or 255-40-17) without rolling your fenders in the front especially, and rear. And correct me if I'm wrong, but even 17x8 +45 with proper fitting tires (215-45-17 or 225-45-17) are pushing it on stock front fenders.

I'm like you. I refuse to roll (and potentially, or probably, ruin my fenders). I've seen way too many S2000s with messed up, uneven rolled fenders. I've also seen nicely rolled fenders start to chip paint on the edges at a later point in time (there are exceptions of course). I even know one or two owners that hated their decision to roll their fenders, to the point where they had to get new fenders.

At quick glance, do aggressive wheels usually look good with properly rolled fenders? Definitely, as long as it's not juvenile hellaflush nonsense. Do the fenders usually end up looking worse than stock in the long run? Yes. That's why I have Volks designed to actually fit stock S2000 fenders (17x7.5 +48 and 17x9 +65). Are they concave? No. Are they perfectly flush? Not quite. But they do look more aggressive than stock, provide a bit wider track, enhance grip (thanks to wider tires) and fit without messing up a beautiful car.

yes thats exactly how i feel coming from a rolling the fenders stand point, but i might have to go against my own advice and roll so i can properly fit 17+9 +45 all around. i hate how convex rpf1's look when under 9" wide or most offsets over +45

Ok, just shoot me a PM and let me know. I've done several S2000 rear fender rolls(including my own which was my first lol)

As long as the fenders have original paint on them the risk of cracking is quite low. Just have to take your time and my handy heat gun.

Getting a set of 17x9 +45 nonstaggered. Going to get all fenders rolled and rears tab relocated. Been through over 50 pages and still didn't really get my question answered because not everyone posted up their specs. For my rears, I'm probably going to be fine with 255/40 with about an inch gap an -3 camber with minimal to no rubbing hopefully. My question is what tire size should I get for the front? I don't want to flare, pull my fenders, or have any poke. I'm hoping to only having to have -2 to -3 chamber so I'm pretty much in between 225/45,235/40, or 245/40.
