Is anyone running a rear 18x10 +38 offset with a tire size of 275/35/18's? Or even a 18x9.5 with a 265/275 tire would be fine. The fronts would be a 18x8 +45 offset (something around a 235/45/40/18). Where you able to get away with rolling the fenders or were flares required? Where you able to run a decent camber?

I am looking at running the Bridgestone Potenza RE11 tires on my application. The RE11's only go up to a 255 for a 17" tire and I really need as much contact patch as possible. The 18's are available in both a 265 and 275. This set-up is currently only making 502whp on the low boost setting and will see between 600-700whp in the near future. My current wheels are 17x9 R (255/40/17) 17x7.5 F (225/45/17) so I figured if I'm spending the money on new tires I may be better off selling my current set-up and starting from scratch with a wider wheel. I know the RE11's are not the longest lasting tire... but this set-up is my shop car and I do not drive it daily.

Thanks for the help
If you are wanting a wider tire and more contact patch, have you considered going wide body if you want to run that aggressive of an offset? otherwise you can go with a different wheel with higher offset such as the 949 6ULR 17x10 and you can even run a 295 if you wanted to, i believe. Also are you dead set on the RE11's? there are plenty of other tires for the price and spec as those that do run wider.
After posting this up last night I did a bit more research. I found out that the Dunlop Star Spec's have a very good review and are available in a 265/40/17 which would give me around 25-30mm (x2) additional contact patch than the 255/40/17 on my current wheel. The current volks (rear) I have are a 17x9 with a +65 offset which should fit the 265 tire. Worst case scenerio is that I run a small amount of camber and roll the fender a bit. It's looking like working with the offset of +38 on the RFP1 18x10 is just going to be way too involved to fit a 275 tire. I am going to start looking into other options as you recommended for a better offset then make a decision. I'm not opposed to flares or even a wide body... but at this time we still have the suspension and Ford 8.8 rear end conversion to purchase/install.

Also keep in mind that some tires run wider than others. The bridgestones do on some of theirs. I measured my current Toyo R888's to my previous Falken Rt615's and the Toyos are a bit wider, both being a 255/40/17. I would say the Toyos are closer to a 265 or even a 275. I was going to get the 275/40/17 R888's but my supplier is out of stock. I'll be getting the 255's instead again. I have the 17x9.5 +38 in the rears, I'll post pics if I can get my alignment tonight with the 255 toyos, even right now they look very meaty and aggressive.

Speaking of different brands running wider than others, i'm planning on running a pretty standard 17x8, 17x9 +45 with 215/245 tires. I'm looking into Sumitomo, but from what I heard, they run pretty skinny. Will this setup have a big stretch? Or will this be fine?

Thanks,
James

nope, not much. should be ok and not have to do much, if anything to make them fit.

Just got my alignment done -2.2 in the rear, I might try -3. Wheels are 16x8 and 17x9.5 +38 all around. 225 and 255 R888's. I'm going to do some more work on the fenders this weekend and also cut the liners.

Excuse my soft top, it's been through hell

sorry for not searching through all 83 pages but could i run 17x8 +45 front 17x9 +45 rear with about 1 finger gap all around, without rolling/flaring/pulling fenders? if so, what size tires should i run? and would the 17x8 +45 have a more concave or convex look? looking for an aggressive stance without changing the stock fender characteristics

without rolling the fenders on the s2k you really are limited. if you find someone who knows what they are doing rolling fenders isnt bad. it only costs around 25 a fender. I have rolled fenders and am running 17x9 +45 with 245's all around. Pretty agressive for not being rolled and I am lowered about 2 inches.

17x8 are more pushed out I believe that called convex.....look at drkphnx's pics on this page.... His fronts are what 17x8 would look like and his backs are what 17x9 would look like as far as concave/convex. With a 9 inch rims you really arent gunna wanna run a smaller tire then a 235 unless ur part of the hella flush crew

damn.. i really hate the convex look, no offense too anybody running it. so i guess what im looking for is 17x9 +45 all around? im not going for the hellaflush look though. i guess what im looking for is the most aggressive stance possible with a 1 finger gap all around and without rolling. something similar to your stance... maybe rolling is my only option? unless you are lower than 1 finger gap? hard to tell from your sig

Just rolled them but get them done right by someone experienced. Don't pull your fenders. Just simple roll. You'll be able to fit 17x9 +45 245/40/17 all around.
