^ Thanks! I keep hearing rave reviews of Downforce fenders. I am still torn between getting them and keeping my 17 x 9 +45 Advans or getting wheels with more conservative offsets.

My two setups qualify:

255/35-18 Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08s on 18x9 +55 wheels all around

255/40-17 Yokohama AO48s on 17x8.5 +65 wheels all around

Anybody know what rims these are in the 1st set-up?

thanks.

They're discontinued, those are from before Tanabe bought them out

From my photoshoot with FatKid Photography in SD a couple weeks ago:

255/40R17 PS2s all around on 949Racing 17x9 +48 front/17x10 +52 rear with Downforce front fenders.
Sick set up, but 255 on a 10" wheel is pretty weak. I would have gone 265 or possibly 275.

255 tire on a 10" wheel maximizes that tires potential. A 255 works better on a 10" wheel than a 9" wheel.

Do you have any data or lap times to back this up? From experience, i can tell you that your typical track oriented tire (star spec, re01r, nt01) in 255/40 works best on 10j wheel. Fwiw I've tested them on 8.5, 9, 9.5 and 10j wheels.

In addition, nobody makes a 275 tire for a 17" wheel that has the right O.D. If one were to run a 265 or 275 (likely on an 18"), ideally it would be on a 10.5j.
