I'm lowered on skunk 2 springs and I just got some 17x8 offset +35 all around and I'm going to roll all the fenders. What size tire can I run on all the rims that are all the same size

On an 8" wheel, I would do a 245/40.

Anyone running 275s on a 18x9" wheel? I found a pair of 275s that I'm anxious to buy, however, I'm too low and Ill probably have to pull the fender some

^ while a 275 can fit on a 9 inch rim, it is a bit pinched. I have not seen any on an 18x9, but I have seen 275/35/15 hoosiers on miatas, and while it is amazing, it is a bit pinched. I can only imagine the the pinch on an 18 would be even worse since the sidewall would be just as short if not shorter. What aspect are they? 30? 35?

35 series...

My tire shop accidentally threw on a 255/40 on my 8" wheel when it should have been on the 9". It looked terribly pinched, and I reamed his ass out for getting the tires mixed up, lol. Somehow he also managed to put on the 225s I had on the 9" wheel as well, I can't trust him anymore after that. Do you think a 40 series would work better on the 9"?

Teaser for now. Car is going to the alignment shop, then straight to the paint booth for a complete respray along with fixing the fenders and flaring them out for the proper alignment.

17x9 +35 245/40/17 all around

A 40 would look slightly less pinched, buyt would have even more sidewall flex than the 35. From a performance standpoint, a tire seems to be at its best on a rim that is about the same width as the tread. So a 245 will be at it's best on a 9.5 inch rim. That said a slightly wider tires should still be quicker on the same wheel. But responsivness and feel will be reduced slightly. Most of what I am refering to has to do with experience with and talking to people who know their stuff about miatas. I would guess that similar rules would apply to larger size rims too.

A 275mm tire has a section width of 10.827 inches, so you will have about 1.4 inches of "pinch" on either side of a 9" wheel.

FWIW, in miata land, a 225/45/15 is considered to be at its best on a 15x9. thats a 8.86 inche wide tire, so section width is just about perfect. So as much as many of us hate streched tires, a slight strech actually helps. I would guess that since s2k's generally run shorter sidewalls, that a wider tire would not lose at much stiffness as you get on a smaller rim diameter.

I would be curious to hear what guys who track s2k's seem to think that the sweet spot of tire/wheel width is.
