^ Yep, I had looked at the specs on Tire Rack but the curious thing here is that the RE11 and RS3 are both listed as 10.2"
To find the info I'm looking for, I went back through all the pages until page 36, //steve\\ notes that:

Of the top tier street tires the RE11s are actually probably one of the most narrow. They also have a really round profile which I think makes them not look as wide too. I had a set of 255 star specs and they were definitely wider than the RE11s. I currently have some RS3s and I think they might even be wider than the star specs were. I haven't seen a 255 AD08 so I can't comment on those but Advans generally run very wide so I wouldn't be surprised if they were the widest of them all.
I'm not overly excited about the fact that the RS3s need more camber though. I'll likely go back to star specs next time I need tires.

And also:
When I had my 255 RE11s, I rubbed on the inner fender wall on certain turns. But with the current 255 RS3s, I'm not, and the RS3s are much wider than the RE11s. But I think it's because I stiffened up my V3s about a month ago. So I think the shock is preventing the tire from making contact with the liner. Both the RE11s and RS3s were on the same wheel, a 17x9 +45.
But with your Cwest fenders, and a +42, I think you'll be fine. Especially with those J's RCAs. You'll be able to get some insane negative camber.

If you really are that untrusting of tire rack's data I'm sure you can call and talk to them and get their opinion.

I realize I dont know all the facts of what you guys are talking about but just to share some info, I just changed my re-11's for rs3's. All I did was switch tires absolutely nothing else and I had minor rubbing in the rear with a 3mm spacer and now with the 3mm spacer removed i have the same rubbing if not slightly more. I have not measured the tires but this leads me to believe the rs3's are wider.

Good to see this thread is still going strong.
I still have my wheels on for some reason even though the daytime highs have been struggling to make 40*F. I may take the car out for one last shoot of the season if the weather holds off.
