Sooooo I'm tire shopping for my 17x9.5's

I currently have kumho xs 17/275/40

I'd be looking for something I can autox and road race with, and a bit of daily driving. I'm anxiously looking at the new star specs but I don't think they will make them bigger than a 255 in 17"

The kumhos are great at the track, but take a lot of work to keep warm at autox. Any auggestions?? Would I regret dropping to a 265 or 255?

If you want road race AND autox, I'd recommend the 255's anyway. Is there a particular reason you feel like you need 275's? Not only would they hurt your gearing and acceleration, they would require more fender work, and the returns would be minimal at best. You could run 265's as well, as that's what the ASM car runs and I'm sure they know what they're doing.
