Sorry, but if I was married, it would be for good reason. Because I love that woman. First, I wouldn't buy a car, especially one that expensive, without letting her know about it. Then we'd talk it over together.

Second, if it came down to a marraige or a car, I'd keep the marraige.

^ That's the easy answer, but man does that sour a relationship. If someone really did that would you still want to be with them? It's just a frickin' car. It can be sold in a year when the guy gets bored of it.

If it's his money he should spend it how he sees fit, discussing the transaction with her is optional. If it's her money he deserves her ultimatum.

Yeah I would've been like WHAT? No freaking way. Try to use the car as grounds for a divorce? The judge will make you do some serious explaining. I'll get at least if not more than 1/2 and my balls back.
