Your admitting to speeding on a public forum...
Big deal...I'll readily admit to speeding when I'm on the highway.

It's not unusual for me to run 85+ in a posted 70mph. I just ALWAYS use a radar detector. It's been more than 10 years since I was pulled over for speeding, and that time was just a warning.

OR, try to go the speed limit.

no tickets there.
I hate comments like this. I find it very unlikely that you've kept your S2000 under 80mph throughout your entire ownership. In fact you haven't lived until you've redline 3rd gear and if you're doing it right, you'd be at 95mph(ap1) Speed and performance is the soul of the s2000. I don't drive a prius for a reason thank you.

You look older than that in your picture. Must be the lighting or something.

That may be true, but it's irrelevant. You're the one complaining about getting the speeding ticket, not txs2knoah. Maybe he never speeds. Or maybe when he speeds he never gets caught. Or maybe when he speeds and gets caught he accepts responsibility for it without complaint.

Priuses (Prii?) can speed as well.

Your point, apparently, is that you wish to go fast. Part of the price for fulfilling that wish is paying for speeding tickets. Don't whine to us about it.

Not in California. That's considered a speed trap and is not legal. I don't know about other states, however.
its legal in florida. i got a ticket about 5 years back by being paced by a helicopter over i75. there are parts of i75 with markers that they use to calculate your speed, depending on how fast you cross from marker a to marker b.

I just laugh at all these idiots speeding and then pissed off when they get a ticket, and try to fight it in court because of radar calibration and shit.

I'm not saying I'm perfect. I have a court date for a ticket in a couple days, but I'm not gonna be a bitch about it and complain why they ticketed me and not the motorcycles that were pacing me in the lane next to me.

I'm gonna man up and request defensive driving...

Every time I get pulled over I'm just pissed at myself for getting caught--not at the police.

Except the time I was pulled over for no front plate (in my first s2k when I was young[er]) and the asshat didn't ask for insurance (which told me no ticket was in the works) and then didn't even ticket me for no front plate. He just wanted to make sure it was my car I guess (Note: cops in CA LOVE to give out those types of tickets--it's easy revenue)

If you read my post you would've noticed that I wasn't complaining about the ticket itself, but for the profiling that got me the ticket and the radar situation. Did I make any excuse for speeding? NO. I was going 80 in a 65 and that was that(oooh so excessive). You however seem to be on your high pedestal pointing out slight grammar mistakes that you understood anyway. (I hope that makes u feel smarter because it tends to be lesser ones that are always trying to prove themselves ) Regardless, my "whining" is to try to find an explanation on how I got caught and to learn from it. Thank you for those who helped me understand the situation. Just cause you're a moderator doesn't mean you can't be a douche.
