We need to go way beyond some type of regular road testing FOR ALL DRIVERS. We need to enforce things like driving with no license, driving uninsured, etc the way we enforce DWIs... Zero tolerance and (unless you can produce the drivers license and insurance card you "left at the house") JAIL time...or at least some heavy community service.

Young drivers aren't the problem. (My son was a better, more attentive, more skilled driver at 18 than most 30 year olds.) Old drivers aren't the problem. (Come on up to the Dragon some time and watch some of the Vintage crew.) BAD drivers are the problem.

microchip??

it could monitor speed, location, if your swerving, whether you went through a red light, it could also pick up on microwaves from your cellphone and report it to the nearest cruiser. plus, youd never forget your license/registration/or insurance because the chip would be embedded into your skull. pretty hard to forget! But if people were perfect, there would be no tickets or revenue.

No, it's not. Read the rest of my post.

My point is that no one age group has the corner on reckless/dangerous/inept driving. My life has been endangered by non-seniors way more often than by seniors.

Based on your logic, I would have to advocate the banning of all drivers under the age of 25, since this is the age group that has most put my life at risk, as that is the age group that most engages in dangerous and illegal street racing. Hence my statement that old people don't street race.

just saying, every age group has problems including old/senior street racers. If you see our def'n it makes even more sense.

Sadly that has already essentially been proposed for california. (Not RFID of course). I think that the hybrid model that causes searing pain for not using blinkers or shoulder checking or running lights would be good, but then I would get it for speeding.
