Actually we pay about 29 cents in taxes. Germany pays about 47 cents in taxes and an additional 19% tax That translates to about $7.65 a gallon and the U.K. pays about a 117% tax rate combined! Thats why the prices are so high in the UK. It makes me angry when people say that a political party is the cause of the current gas rates. Political parties have very little to do with the influence on the price of gas. They may affect the taxing of the gas but comparted to our neighbors across the pond we are in good shape.
