what is faster s2000 or s4?

I pulled up behind an S4 the other day at a red light. He looked in his rear view mirror and saw a beautiful yellow s2000 and couldn't resist. So when the light turned green, he punched it... he pulled a little bit at first... but not much, and I gained on him every time I shifted.
We were not racing... just having fun, when I pulled up beside him he had a huge grin.
Anyway, we get closer to a city called Lakeway... I know that Lakeway is notorious for cops... So I slow down imediatley before the city limit sign. The S4 didn't, and entered Lakeway (a 55mph speed zone) doing 90-100, and whamo, imediatley around the first hill a lakeway cop w/ radar in hand...
The S4 is a "wolf in sheeps clothing" it is fast... and what the others have said in this thread ring true to my short experience w/ the S4.

Speaking of cars that seem faster. I've notice that sometimes when I'm going fast in the S2K you don't always realize it because of the sound and handling. Some cars going at even slower speeds just sound and feel like their going faster when they're not

twinturboS, you proabbly know the 'tested' numbers for the S4 so post them here. The 'increment' for the S2000 you're refering to is:
5-60hph = 6.8secs (6.5 for M Roadster (240hp))
This is from Car and Driver magazine.

S2K Fan, you are SO right! Since acceleration is so linear (the VTEC feels just like a step-function) I forget to back off the gas after passing a car and end up at outrageous speeds. Nice problem to have. And highway sweepers, like overpass on-ramps, pass by so fast because the S2K is so well settled at hyper-speeds on normal bumpy roads. I'm sometimes amazed that I'm not fighting for control up around 100 MPH in turns (unlike the white-knuckle feeling in my old GSR).

The s4 is faster than the s2k, no doubt, I raced one s4 4 times, i only won once because he let me launch first. And another time, i saw another s2k race a s4 on 9w, The s4 won, not by much, but winning is winning. See but the thing is, that they have 2 damn turbos, even if they wanted to they couldn't make the car any faster. But you know what, our s2k has absolutly nothing on it, so we can mod the shit out of it and beat a s4 any day, mod vs stock s4

ace039 "the thing is, that they have 2 damn turbos, even if they wanted to they couldn't make the car any faster. "
Ha, ha, ha, ho, ho, ho, ha.... thanks I needed a good laugh *wiping tears from eyes*. Do a little net search on chipping and putting an exhaust on a stock S4 (about a $1400-$1600 proposition that nets in excess of 30 hp). And that is just the start. The very fact that the car was designed for forced induction and is of a larger displacement ensures that the S4 has much higher power output potentials and should be less expensive to attain.
Obviously its no 2 seat convertible though.....

Silver S2K "Do a little net search on chipping and putting an exhaust on a stock S4 (about a $1400-$1600 proposition that nets in excess of 30 hp). " I don't know much about chips, all i heard is that all it does is increase the top speed of the car, but that i'm not sure of. But i know that no exhaust will no matter of how much quality , it will never give you more than 5-7 HP and thats pushing it already. And for you to say that you get 30+ HP out of the car from those mods is crazy. That means that the chip would have to be giving 25 HP to the car. HAHAHHAAH thanks i needed a laugh. When i was saying they can't make the car faster even if they wanted to. I was comparing it to the S2k, We can get a SC if we wanted and you know what?? a s4 owner can't (unless he wanted to take off his turbos). We can put twin turbos in our S2k. And you know what!? a s4 owner can't!!!!. They can't do any more major engine work!!!!! NONE!!! So next time you laugh it better be at yourself cause you have NOOOO idea what your talking about buddy.

Don't look now ace039 but your ignorance is showing
1) In a forced induction motor evacuating exhaust gasses efficiently makes much more of a difference than on a NA motor. A good exhaust on a FI car can net 15+ hp.

2) Chipping a S4 changes the boost settings (like tampering w/the waste gate) More boost, more power. Very different than chipping a NA car and just changing fuel mappings and speed limiters.

There is a ton of engine work an S4 driver can do. Change turbo size, upgrade intercooler, upgrade waste gates, port and polish, throttle body work. Same things that can be done to any car. The point is, since the car came designed as a FI application, they wont have to spend a kings ransom to retro fit FI on the car. It will, to an extent, be a much easier, cheaper car to mod for those reasons.
