I love CART, especially when Honda came in to build engines. With Honda leaving becasue of some of the rule changes, I'm not sure if I'll watch as much as I used to. I'll probably stat focusing more on F1 again.

I followed racing in USA when Mansell was driving in Indycar - but lost interest when different leagues/teams/ formed. The concept loses the appeal generated by the previous history. Same as when a American football team switches city.

what is CART versus the old Indycar?

and how come only a few master both Formula One and American single seater racing.

what is CART versus the old Indycar? and how come only a few master both Formula One and American single seater racing.
CART was formed in 79. What sanctioning body was before that I don't remember. But when they would run at Indy for the 500, they were under the USAC rules.

As for your second question, note that most that master both are foreign born and raised, where motorsports are as popular as football is here. They also run on road courses instead of ovals. Too many american race drivers can only drive in circles or in a straight line. To be able to master F1 and CART, you need to know how to drive road and street courses.
