Well here it is .. The Impreza WRX !

Well this makes it tough,
I am planing my move from Australia to the US and I was thinking of buying the S2000 when I got there. But at $10,000 less than the S, it's a hard decision.
I know we aren't comparing apples to apples here but performance wise I personally know the handling and acceleration of the WRX is fantastic, straight of the showroom floor. A few minor mods here and there and sh*t it flies!

Once again, I know these are two different types of cars, but at $24,000 it is hard not to consider it.
Brad.

But Brad, this isn't the WRX STi or whatever you guys have Down Under. How fast is it? I am considering it just a lil' bit considering the price and the AWD. But the looks... can't imagine myself cruising to the club with my buddies in it though. More for the outdoorsy types, I think.

We ahve the Sti and the standard WRX. You will get the Sti once the standard WRX has become the norm.

Here is a quote from http://www.racingjamaica.com/page6arch5.html
"......with John Ralston qualifying at 12.21secs, a factory stock Impreza WRX which suprised even the owner by qualifying at 13.5secs with full interior including spare tyre in the trunk,...."
Totaly stock WRX, put an exhaust or larger intercooler and those times drop fairly quickly.
Once again to all, I know these cars are aimed at totally different markets but with this performance at $10,000 less, it makes you think.

A lot of my buddies have WRX's, I have an S.
They are totally different cars. I really can't see how you would consider the two in the same purchase space.
The WRC is a sedan with turbo boxer engine and all wheel drive. It is fast, handles great, and a bit on the shopping cart looking side. Extremely practical and good fun.
The S is damn right impractical, but so is a Ferrari . It goes and handles fabulously and you won't get any complaints from the back seat because it doesn't have one. And it looks like it wants to drive straight past the shops at 160kph, VTEC'in to bejeezus.
