try heading over to www.howardforums.com it's a cell phone forum with plenty of info, including the two-way feature for vzw.

www.wirelessadvisor.com I use it all the time and find it to be a little more mature and helpful than howards

we recently received a bunch of verizon's PTT v60's in. i refused to take one because i dont ever want to be *that* accessible. it's bad enough that they gave me verizon's blackberry, no way was i going to carry the PTT phone!
from what ive heard from my coworkers, the PTT service is pretty good. we used to have nextels here back in the day, but since their service really sucked, we moved to verizon.. its been 3 weeks so far and i havent heard any complaints.
our verizon rep said that they were working with motorola and another phone manufacturer to add a few more PTT phones into their portfolio.. if they can incorporate a camera phone + ptt + color screen with the get it now feature.. i may have to defect to the dark side!

The new Samsung, I believe it is the 690 is coming out soon, it is color and PTT. I know it doesn't have a camera but it may be GIN capable. Check phonescoop.com for the latest phone info and pics, that place is a wealth of cellular info.

PTT is cool, but like bkw said, I don't want to be that accessible either.
I was wondering why the PTT phones are all so damn BIG! The Motorola V60p is the same as my V60c but twice as thick! If they made smaller PTT phones, I might consider...but the phone is just too big.
I don't doubt Verizon has good service. They have served me well in the past 4 years.

guess what showed up at my admin's desk this morning.. yup.. a ptt v60
looks like i'll have to trade in my vx6000 in by the end of the week after i scavenge the phone #'s off.
s two k, i didnt want to bash nextel, but within our building the ptt service wouldnt work between floors. if someone was up on the 40th floor, and tried communicating with someone down on 5, it wouldnt work. we even noticed that communicating between adjacent floors would not work either. i wasnt working here pre 9/11, but i heard that before the towers went down, nextel was 'liveable' but not perfect.. then post 9/11 and the service went down the drain. nextel promised they'd fix it, but never did. with verizon's new PTT, we have zero problems between floors, between miles, or between states.
i only wish we could get motorola's nextel phone for verizon..

Well, let's see. The phone is thicker due to the speaker phone built into it. I was told Verizon has put the Samsung phone on hold and won't release it due to various problems they are having with it. Probably the same ones MOT was having during development.
Right now, from what I know, there is only a bigger PTT model being produced for contractors and construction type work.
The problems I have heard about Nextel has never been the radio, it's been the phone service itself. But I've never had a Nextel phone, so I don't know. I only go with Verizon because of their coverage.
I test this phone for MOT and specifically test our Verizon (CDMA) phones.
