Or when chevy tried to market the Nova in mexico, but nova or "no va" means won't go in spanish!!
I just thought they were kind of funny...didn't mean any offense!

feels like deja vu. this reminds me one time when i was looking for an asian grocery store in the bay area. i just moved from twin cities, minnesota and i missed cooking and eating real asian dishes. i went to a store called Kong's Market, but it really wasn't an asian store it just had an asian like name.
someone told me that the Ranch Market was an asian store but i wanted to call to make sure. i didn't want to drive 40 miles and find out that it was another asian "front." someone answers that phone and i ask if they sell asian food. the guy mumbles something and i repeat my question. he doesn't understand me so he transfers me to someone else. a lady with a strong accent answers and i ask my same question. i speak very slowly and try to speak as clearly as possible. she still doesn't understand me. so i get transferred a third time. the next guy keeps asks me in engrish what i am looking for. i repeat and rephrase my question. he doesn't understand me and transfers me to someone else. finally a guy with a hispanic accent answers and actually understands my question. he said they sell all kinds of asian foods. its funny because i should have known....if i call a grocery store and they don't speak english i can assume that its an asian store
