This is horrible. Between 3pm and midnight every weekday? I love getting home from work and sitting down and watching Speedvision. I guess that is gone.

Between the CART debacle and this, the American racing landscape is going in the toilet.

As soon as the F1 and Sports car seasons were over I cancelled my subscription to the programming package that included Speedvision. I had subscribed to it just to see the F1 and Sports car races and now that they're turning it into the NASCAR channel I don't know if I'll re-subscribe or not next year.

That does it. I am selling my S2000 and buying a pickup and a Monte Carlo with the NASCAR stickers all over it.

If you can't beat-em, join-em.

Schatten, thanks for the heads up on the Pearl as well. I was about to grab a Warsteiner and that would have been a travesty to drink while reading this news.

How many channels have already committed themselves to NASCAR? There is a lot of support for Speedvision (an alternative motor racing channel). Now, they are going to join the mainstream. Who is going to provide other type of racing coverage here in US?

good thing I live in Michigan. I can always go to bars in Canada for F1 and Rally racing.
