What does a red Honda badge mean? The Jordan F1 team uses a red Honda badge on the nose of the new EJ11. (Changed from black last year when they were Mugen powered on the EJ10.) I

I think it is to signify racing...but many do it because of the "race" or look to it.

Ever since Honda came out with NSX Type-R, all of type-R cars have red badge. Integra, Civic (and I think Accord Euro-R as well). I have read in Japanese Honda site that it represents racing blood in its high performance production cars, or something like that.

Type-R cars only used to come in white finish in Japan, and White with Red is Japan's national racing color. It roots back to Honda's 1st generation F-1 cars back in 60's. A white NSX Type-R with red badge remaind me of that F-1 car.

By the way, BAR F-1 cars has red badges too.

Enzo and Unicorn,

Thanks for the insight. Since I posted this I also noticed the BAR F1 car uses the red Honda badge.

Thanks!

It was my understanding that they use a different colour to seperate the drivers. So you can tell who's who. But maybe that's something else, and a little more obvious.

The red "H" badge started in 1965 when Honda won the mexican grand prix. After that, they used Championship white on their race cars with red honda logo's on their nose...

anyone know where to get the real JDM NSX "H" badge. They look like they are lower profile than the S2000 badges.
Thanks

www.handaaccessories.com has OEM Honda red badges. I have them on my car to highlight the red interior a bit.
