Questions to those who work in car sales
I've been working in retail sales for the last 8 years, but lately I've been pondering moving into car sales. The main reason for this move would be because of my love of cars and need to be around cars. Another reason is (from what I hear) there is a lot of potential to make a great income.
So to those who work or have worked in car sales, I'm interested in your advice and experiences. How long have you been in car sales? What does it take to succeed in car sales? Do you enjoy working in car sales?

Car sales is the weirdest job on earth. It will take days to explain you what it is. To make it short, Not one soul was born as a carsalesperson. You never know who can make it happen who not. I started 3 years ago, got promoted to internet sales and then closer(team manager). I'm 23, attending college. I came from another country speaking so-so english. Being able to make $10000 a month is a great feeling when you attending school. You work long hours. Buyers are liars, however buyers believe you are the liar, so it is weird. Somedays you don't even want to see cars lined up in different colors b/c that's what you staring at all day. Sometimes you feel everyone that shakes your hand is buying a car. I don't know how you feel about selling someone not the car they want, not the color they want. Are you ok making someone pay a lot for the car? Are you ok being yelled by managers and the customers? It has his up's and down's.. My advice, give it a try for three months.
if you want to succeed, don't take "no" as an answer, that means "sell me more" . Try to really make friends with people. Have the best attitude. If people are talking crap walk away from them, customers, co-workers, managers doesn't matter. When the next customer comes in give them a nice smile, and make it enjoyable for them, joke about yourself. If you want to take it to the next level buy "Grant Cardone" cd's, listen to them. I listened to the same cd's 20 times. It made most of my income.
Matt.
p.s.: Sell Honda's. Great product, you have an S, so you'll be more enthusiastic about them.
